Perhaps because I was born in them. :) Personally there is so much to choose from in the 80s. I am having a hard time narrowing a few down! I was raised by very young parents. My mom was 14 when I was born and my dad was 17. That’s how I ended up with my love for a variety of music. Here is some more of my favorite songs from the 80s!

Pat Benatar is one of my favorite female vocalists of all time especially the 80s.

I love to dance. It helps relieve stress, keeps you active and is a whole lot of laughs. I have always loved to dance. So today we are going to share some of my favorite songs to dance to. These are just a few that are on my playlist when I want to get my groove on. Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Christian Millian and Ciara are some of my favorites. Their music is upbeat and a lot of fun to get down with.

Over the last few months, I have been quiet. Uncharacteristically quiet. I have pulled back from social media and focused on my family. It’s been amazing. My kids have needed me more in the last few months than ever before and that’s where I belong. In addition to spending time with them, I have dived into a ladies Bible Study that began in January. I also signed up to volunteer at Frontline Club at church. Between Girl Scouts, Frontline Club, Church services and my Bible study; I have been busy. It’s what I needed to help me focus on the last few months.

On top of this, I have been trying to take a weekend off a month. I’m lucky to have family around to help with the kids and let me recharge. It’s helping me stay strong and focused on what truly matters. I went to dinner with my family for my brother in law’s birthday. Helped my oldest with her History Fair project. I have been potty training not one but two kids! Apparently, Myles has decided to potty train and Kam can’t let him potty train first. My lovely sister cut and colored my hair too. I went black with blue intensifier and absolutely love it! Overall, I am quite pleased with the way things are going and even more so now that my priorities are where they should be. Life has been chaotic at best but I can’t complain because overall, it’s fabulous!

I don’t plan on being too quiet for long. I am hoping to start updating more regularly even if life tends to be a little crazy!

Our lives are so close to a book. Heartbreaking chapters that make you think, “Can it possibly end like this?” Then the new chapter begins. It looks bleak but then something happens and you realize that the new chapter is filled with a lot of blessings. When you look back at the earlier chapters, you can start to feel grateful for them. That’s where I am at right now. This chapter of my life has been full of a multitude of blessings. It is fulfilling and something I never dreamed of but prayed about for over a year. I have built a friendship that will one day turn into more. For now, I’m enjoying the slowness of it and giving it time so that we have the love we both desire. I appreciate the hard times from last year because I appreciate the small things so much more.

Now I was starting to be cynical of love. I thought for sure that there was no such thing as a lasting love. I proceed with caution and have learned to recognize red flags through counseling. But I have slowly let my walls cave as I have learned that this is what love is supposed to be. It does exist if you are patient and refuse to settle for anything less than what you want. I have learned it can be mine! This book will end with the happiness that I have been searching for because I found it within me first and I am worth it!
