I am actually a member of Girl Scouts of Utah as a Cadette leader. I have been getting my girls ready for cookie sales to begin on Saturday, January 14. It’s a busy time of year for these girls and they have so much fun participating.

Did you know that by selling cookies, girls can earn money to participate in activities, camps and more! Every box of cookie that is sold helps the girls on some level. It’s an amazing fundraiser that also teaches the girls valuable lessons. The Cadettes have been learning about marketing, advertising, business plans and other tools to help them become successful entrepreneurs in the future. In addition to those lessons, they learn how to manage their money.

Girl Scouts is girl led. I don’t get to decide on what my girls are learning because it’s all about what they want to learn. Girl led also means they are responsible for their money. They have to budget their money so they can do the things they would like to do in the program. Purchasing 1, 2, or 24 boxes support these girls in all their activities and lessons.

Be sure to join us Thursday, January 12 at 6 PM MST as we discuss having your cookie and eating it too! Plus we will be giving away boxes of cookies! Spread the word and be sure to tweet this message: Join @gsutah tomorrow 4 a fun twitter party & chat about how to have your cookie & eat it too! 6pm MST. #gscookies DO NOT FORGET THE HASHTAG!

I was not compensated by Girl Scouts of Utah. I am a volunteer and love everything they do!

Plastic surgery is getting more and more common, to the point that it has become more a part of the fashion and beauty world than the medical world. These days, thousands of people every day are online researching different procedures and methods at sites like Aboutplasticsurgery.com, and thinking of ways that they can improve their images or preserve youthful appearances through surgical means. However, this is no reason for anyone to feel pressured to join the crowd and undergo plastic surgery. There are plenty of natural ways to preserve a healthy, attractive appearance, and as long as you have a positive opinion of your own body you have nothing to worry about. However, if you are potentially interested in exploring some plastic surgery options as possibilities, here are a few words on some of the more common procedures.

Among women, breast augmentation is consistently the most popular plastic surgery, and can be used in a variety of ways to alter the appearance, shape and size of breasts. Many people are under a false impression that the only use of cosmetic breast surgery is enlargement. However, breast surgery can also be used for reduction, reshaping, or even restructuring following disease or injury. Whatever the case, many women use some form of breast augmentation in order to slightly alter their appearances, and ultimately become more secure and comfortable in their bodies.

Facelifts are also extremely popular forms of plastic surgery, and it’s not difficult to understand why. Designed to reduce forehead wrinkles and do away with other facial blemishes (bags under the eyes, sagging skin, etc.) facelifts can take years off your face, and are relatively simple procedures that aren’t too invasive. If you feel that you are beginning to see yourself age and you are uncomfortable with the visual effects, this is something that you may want to give some thought to – after all, many people feel younger as long as they look younger.

Among other popular plastic surgeries are tummy tucks, liposuction, nose jobs, and many others. When you consider such procedures, it is important not to look at them independently, but instead with regard to how they could affect you personally. Each instance of plastic surgery is unique, and each use for a procedure is different, depending on your needs and desires. You should feel no pressure to to alter your body through surgery, but if you feel that your opinion of your body and appearance could improve, it is at least worth looking into.

I love the look on their faces as they await her arrival.
