JcPenney and the Angel Giving Tree Twitter Party with $300 in Giveaways

My favorite thing about Christmas is all of the giving that seems to pour out everywhere. I love seeing that generosity and wish it was Christmas time everyday. I try to teach my children about the true meaning of Christmas and what it should mean to us. I teach them this by reading The Christmas story from the Bible and taking them shopping for other kids.
Monday, November 14, I will be participating in a Twitter Party to talk about giving back during the holidays. To participate just start chatting with us using the hashtag: #jcpangel from 7-8 PM EST.  Take the opportunity this holiday season to show your family how to give to others. JcPenney is giving customers a reason to take advantage of Black Friday specials a day early on jcp.com. Check out these great ways to particpate in the Angel Giving Tree and help earn money for the Angel Giving Tree program.
  • On Thanksgiving Day, jcpenney will donate $50 to The Salvation Army, up to $400,000, for every Angel adopted online
  • On Black Friday, jcpenney will donate $25 to The Salvation Army, up to $100,000, for every customer who uses Foursquare to check-in to a jcpenney store between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m.
    • To encourage nationwide support and participation, jcpenney will award the community with the most Foursquare check-ins on Black Friday with a celebratory shopping party to be held on Dec. 17. The winning store will host a food truck on-site complete with complimentary snacks and beverages to help energize time-strapped customers shopping jcpenney on the last weekend before Christmas.

What is the Angel Giving Tree Program?

The Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree Online Program is a national, online adoption program that allows customers to provide children, teens and seniors in need with Christmas gifts. JcPenney presents the Angel Giving Tree program and has made it easier for customers to shop, buy and ship their gifts from the convenience of their home, office or anywhere in the world. This year you have the opportunity to adopt angels as an individual or a group. After the “adoption”, you will receive all the information you need to shop for your angel. In 2010, over 70,000 angels were adopted online. JcPenney and The Salvation Army hope to exceed that number.
