Mamavation Monday: Keeping these feet busy

One of my secrets to losing baby weight is the simple fact that I am always busy chasing kids. I am always moving and I encourage the kids to move too. Of course we can always move more but we are making great progress. I wish we had spent more time in the mountain this year but we improvised. I think I need to start using a pedometer again to keep track of my steps.

In addition to moving a lot, I have been focusing on ab workouts. Crunches, planks and more straight from the Gruntstyle Ab Crusher. I have started using my foam log that helps with my neck exercises too. In addition to strengthening my neck and shoulder muscles, I can feel the strength in my stomach too. That feeling is great.

This week’s blogging carnival question is sponsored by Omron Fitness.

Where are you planning for your feet to take you before 2011 ends? Any races or training plans?

No races for me this year but I really want to do the Couch to 5K . Then participate in a 5K next year. I see the rush others have with running and I want that rush. I’ve been wanting to run so tomorrow is going to be my official day 1!

This post is sponsored by Omron Fitness and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women

  4. Reading your bio makes me tired. I applaude you for wanting to add running to that. The couch to 5k is a great tool to break down what feels insurmountable. Have fun with it, and do snag a pedometer somewhere. I bet you would be surprised by how much you get in when you are chasing kids.

  5. i ran my first 5k and can’t wait to run more! sooo much fun!

  6. Best of luck with the couch to 5K! I really like it, especially once I found a podcast with music that I like.

  9. You’ll definitely find running a rush. Aside from the challenge and sense of competition, races allow me to interact with fellow runners who are as inspired, passionate and motivated.
