Mamavation Monday: Mama needs new shoes

I have been horrible at working out. There I said it! Complete horrible. The problem? I am home alone with the little ones without much of a break. I could work out during Myles nap time but that is when I try to get my other work that I need to get done. I could wake up earlier to exercise but then Myles thinks he needs to wake up earlier with me. My husband takes time for nightly runs because I am home cooking and caring for the kids. It’s made me a little jealous of the time he gets. I want to start running but the idea of taking 5 kids to the path with me is not an attractive one. I know the lack of exercise is a big player in my mood lately. I love getting down and working out. But when I’m trying to do anything, I usually have 2-3 little ones that think that is cue to play pile on Mommy. This is something I really need to tackle and schedule in. I just wish that I had someone here to help a little more.

Question: When was the last time you got new workout shoes?  What do you use them for?

Thanks to Attune Foods for hosting this week’s question

I would love to go to a running store and purchase a new pair of shoes. I was going to order some online but apparently they are something that isn’t one shoe fits all kind of purchase. So now I must search and locate a running store and find the time to go get some. But I am going to do it!! Then I am going to find the time and start running. It’s not a “desire” but a “need”.

This post is sponsored by Attune Foods and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women” at the bottom of your post.

  1. Can you do a you cook while Hubs runs and you run while he cleans up dinner kind of thing?
Or you could just have sex… I hear it burns like 100 calories. ;)

    • LOL Laura! Oh I burn those calories but I want to work these stomach muscles more than burning calories. LOL He thinks after dinner it’s his time so that doesn’t work out real well either.

  2. Hugs, have you thought of hiring a babysitter just so you can workout or run a few times a week? It is really difficult with young kids to workout with them. Hopefully you find a solution that is right for you :) Have a great week.

  3. You know what, guys (fathers) just do as they want!!!! What the *F* we (MOMS) need to do our stuff too!! Like my hubby, I love him to death but he will go take a shower at the most busiest time in the house or take a NAP without asking whether I would want one instead! Then he tells me, why don’t you just do what you want to do like I do? UMMM HELLO? THE KIDS? Moms always have to “PLAN” out everything they want to do, but Dads just seem to be able to just pick up and do as they please.

BTW, why is it “HIS TIME” after dinner when he just got his time running while you’re FRIGGIN BUSY IN THE KITCHEN?! Doesn’t he know that the cooking hour is the busiest time of the day and that maybe HE should watch the kids while you cook???

Sorry…. venting. I’m sure your husband is a great guy. MEN!

    • Skye,
I just have to say that I really appreciate my husband and he deserves this time too. We just need to work it out where I can have that time too. He knows this and is trying too. When I said “his” time I meant that is my time to spend with him so we can keep our relationship strong. I think we need to just move his running time around so that we can run together. Plus that gives us more time together. :)

  4. As long as you guys have a plan to make it work, then that’s awesome!!!
