My Pedigree Ambassador
Over the next 6 weeks, I will be introducing you to Pedigree as a Pedigree Ambassador. We will be transitioning our two Shih-Tzus to Pedigree from the no name brand dog food they have eaten before. In the picture, you can see Coco, our 1 year old Shih-Tzu. We also have a 5 year old named Zeus. These boys are so much fun and I want them to have good nutrition. Afterall, they are a part of the family too.
We have decided to try Pedigree Small Breed Nutrition and see how well they do. To begin transitioning your furry friend to Pedigree, it’s best to take your time. Days 1+2 insert 25% of the new food into the dog’s current dry dog food. Days 3+4, 50% new food should be in the dish. Days 5+6, 75% of the food will be the new Pedigree, and beyond 7 days the food will be 100% of the new Pedigree. We are at 100% Pedigree right now.
When transitioning to a new food, there are four things to watch when assessing their health. 1. Skin & Coat (dull and flaky, average, shiny and soft) 2. Oral Care (dirty, average, pearly white) 3. Digestion (number of stools per day and quality) 4. Immunity (how often does your pup get sick?) Let’s take a closer look at the Four Universal Needs and assess my little ambassadors.
1. Skin & Coat
Coco’s coat is definitely soft and shiny. Zeus is more average. They both have average skin.
2. Oral Care
Neither dog actually has bad breath. Their teeth look average. Not pearly white but not too dirty.
3. Digestion
I don’t actually let them out and monitor them since that is a chore of the little ones. We’ll have to skip this need for now.
4. Immunity
They are both rather healthy. Active and rarely seem sick.
How does your dog compare with their needs? I’m curious to see how this changes over the next 6 weeks. If you would like to find out more information for your pet’s nutritional needs and other care, be sure to follow Pedigree on Twitter.
I wrote this review while participating in an Ambassador campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Pedigree and received dog food to facilitate my reviews and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
