Mamavation Monday: Getting children involved
This week we have been staying busy. I’m finally starting to sleep a lot better. I realized just how important water was too. I noticed I was feeling sluggish so I was taking caffeine any way I could. Anything to keep me going. It wasn’t helping. I immediately filled my water bottle and chugged it down. Almost instant relief. I started feeling my body come back to life. I just need to remember to drink my water.
So my goal this week is to increase my water intake and to keep doing my exercises for my arm. There are certain exercises that irritate it. I have to focus on these exercises before I can bust into other workouts. It’s starting to warm up here so guess what that means? Walking! I’m so excited to start walking.
I’m also excited for more fruits and vegetables. When it’s warm out, we eat a lot fresher. I already bought my first set of seeds too! I’m going to start a little vegetable garden to help with food costs. We are still doing bountiful baskets. I grabbed some Ziploc Produce bags and discovered they are wonderful when it comes to keeping my vegetables fresh. I even got my kids to eat the spinach that came in recently. They loved it!
I wanted to tell all the Sistas and Mamavation Moms that I am so proud of you! I am inspired to keep going and to live a healthier lifestyle. I know that if you girls can do it, then so can I! It’s not only an investment in my future but my children’s future.

Question: How do you encourage your children to contribute to your family’s healthy lifestyle?
I encourage my children to reach for milk and water before drinking sodas and juice. I want to lead by example so I try to drink more water. I’m human so I don’t always do this. They also love to be active. It really helps me stay active when my children are.

Oh, yes! Spring and Summer are so much easier to get the fresh food in. Our farm starts with Strawberries and then the fruit and veggies start rolling in till Fall.
Have fun with your garden! I love having one to work in with my kiddos. Of course it tastes much better fresh from the garden. Have a great week!

Yay for Spring and warmer weather. I was thrilled today when the snow felt slushy under my boots! I cannot wait for Spring. I love that you’re already talking garden. I hope we can get one in this year. We should get the word soon about if we have to move or not.

I totally agree with you on the caffeine. I was the same way…but can you believe how good water makes you feel? I just need to enjoy drinking it
I did notice that now that I am exercising more my body craves water and that’s the only thing that seems to quench my thirst.

Get that water in and do what you need for your arm. Spring will be here soon. 21 days I believe. I am aching for the fresh local veggie harvest. Love ya lots G.
I am a big water drinker! I wish there was more fresh fruits & veggies available near me, but way to much snow on the ground, and no way am I walking 10 miles to the store, ugh! I’d freeze before I got 1/4 there!
