Hey bloggers! Smead can help you organize your taxes this year
Do you have a hard time organizing all of your blog paperwork for taxes? Do you dread adding up your income and expenses in January? I know I do! I am always losing things or forgetting where I put receipts. Because we generally like to have our taxes done by the end of January, I am running around looking for receipts and papers. Trying to double check income vs expenses. It is a long 2 day process that has me pulling my hair out.
This year I am starting out right! I am armed with the help of Smead products. I have an expanding file and a tax organizer. These two products will help this blogger stay organized all year! I am going to show you how to avoid the tax hassle and tackle the fear.
Get an expanding file. I recommend getting a separate one for your blog, personal use and each job. I wrote my blog name on one. It is nice because it doesn’t take up a lot of room. It also has a tab for every month. I plan to put things like receipts for expenses, invoices for income, and any other crucial information. At the end of every month or whenever I get an extra day. I will put them all into my spreadsheet, print and place in my tax organizer. You can do this every quarter too. I just always forget so monthly is best for me.
Your tax organizer has tabs and labels so you can customize it however you would like. It has 6 tabs plus a pocket inside of each tab. This makes it easy to store things without having them loose. The inside cover has a tax checklist so you won’t forget your important paperwork. It also has a specific place to put the year of your tax return and what date you filed on. It would be nice if it had an enclosure to keep everything more secure.
Now as soon as Stoney brings home his W-2′s from work, I will be ready to hand him over our organizer. Then we will just drop it off at the accountant and relax! 30 minutes a month is saving me days of a headache! I am also guaranteeing accuracy and a faster tax return. You can also keep your tax forms in the folder after you have filed to keep in your files for any audits or problems. If you haven’t picked up your own tax organizer or expanding files, I recommend doing it today. Make your 2012 Tax Preparation so much easier!
I was compensated for this post but the ideas and opinions are my own.
