Mamavation Monday: A bad week is not a failing week

This has been a tough week for our family. For those who have noticed, I have not been on Twitter much or Facebook. I have been taking care of the kids and trying to help my husband. He lost his Grandpa this week. Even though he was expecting it, it is still hard for him. It through our whole routine off. So this week, I am determined to make up for it. I don’t know if it was from the crazy emotions, lack of sleep, long days, lack of water and exercise or what. But I’m feeling sluggish and just pooped.

Today I am going to start right. I will be turning the iPod on and gear up to cleaning and dancing around the house. Then when it is time to pick the little ones up from school, I am going to pull out the stroller and go for a walk. I know it’s just what I need this week. My lesson for the week:

If you have a bad day or a bad week, don’t let it define you, get up and start again!

I think too often we have a bad day and we allow that to get to our heads. Then comes the rut that we get stuck in. I am going to set goals this week. Then I am going to put various exercises into my Google Calendar. When I get the alert, I will drop everything, NO EXCUSES and do them.

In addition to physical goals, I am going to have some better eating habits too. I have failed miserably with breakfast the last week. I think I skipped 3 out of 5 days for breakfast. I could tell the difference when I had no energy and found myself binging on other things. BAD! So this week I am going to keep going with a bowl of cereal and a yoplait yogurt. It seems filling and it’s convenient for me. It’s also good. That leads to this week’s blogging carnival question:

Question: How are you getting more fiber in your diet this New Year?

I’m horrible when I’m not getting my cereal in the morning. When I do get my breakfast, then I get at least most of my fiber in. I am going to work on getting more fiber into my diet and my family’s diet. I’m also going to try Kellog’s Fiber Plus Berry Yogurt Crunch cereal. It looks really delicious.

Now it’s your turn to answer the question and tell me how you get back into your routine after a bad week.

I’m writing this post as an entry to a blogging carnival sponsored by Fiber Plus. I will be receiving free product in return.

  1. Hey girl, so sorry about the loss of your husband’s grandpa. Good for you for making sure to get extra activity in! Keep it up and let us know if you need someone to talk to we are here for you!

  2. Very true! Failing is only when I stop and give up. I will not fail in my journey to weight loss.

Sorry for your loss. My husband has both sets of his grandparents and I worry how hard it will be to lose any of them. Mine are gone, but he has been luckier.

I hope you have a better week. Don’t forget your breakfast. :)

  3. sorry for your husband’s loss, that is always hard no matter how long you knew it was coming. :( As for a bad week, I just try harder the next day/week. Last week I ate out, granted I had a salad on two occasions but another I had a salmon. I figured with working out it would cancel that. I think my biggest de-motivator is seeing I gained weight. But I’ll workout harder this week. Hope you can meet your goals. :) I’m uncertain if I’ve had my fiber, but I do plan on eating Special k this week.
