We are not all the same so stop harping!

  1. Love it Gena, love hearing it like it is. I am 100% with you on this. I had to have 3 csections and believe it or not so many people made me feel crappy about that and had someone say I was “less” then a woman for not trying VBAC. They said what do you mean you gave birth. I’m like WTF. I had huge babies and I am a small person and chose to not risk all the complications that go along with VBACs but that’s not the point. I believe too many people worry about other people and their problems and less of their own. Especially when it comes to childbirth and ANYTHING relating to a woman’s child and rights no one should voice their opinions.

    • Oh April that is too bad! There are risks of doing a VBAC and it is a personal choice that people don’t get. It is scary and some people would much rather NOT deal risk it.

Another thing is that if the person doesn’t want to hear what you have to say, then move on! Don’t bash them!!

  2. Bob Marley sings a song that would be perfect for this post. It is called “Judge Not.” People need to listen to his wise words:

“Don’t you look at me so smug
    And say I’m going bad.
Who are you to judge me
And the life that I live?
I know that I’m not perfect
And that I don’t claim to be.
So before you point your fingers,
Be sure your hands are clean.

    Judge not
    Before you judge yourself.
    Judge not
If you’re not ready for judgment.

The road of life is rocking
    And you may stumble too.
So while you talk about me,
    someone else is judging you.”

  3. Oh man–poor thing! I went through the same thing and ppl were trying to literally SCARE ME into a VBAC! I did my full research and really it is just what was best for me to have another c-section…I have gotten induced before and it was for a very good reason too…it’s just wrong for ppl to judge individual situations and circumstances. You are right–it is not the same for everyone!! xoxo

  4. Thanks Geena for sticking up for her. You are so right in that these decisions are those of the parents and her doctor. This should be a joyous time for the mother-to-be and no one should be adding undo stress on her.
I don’t know her, so please give her my best for a wonderful birth and a happy, healthy baby.
