Simplisse Breastfeeding Companion Review and Giveaway
Breastfeeding is a huge part of my life and has been for the past 6 1/2 years. It seems like I have been breastfeeding for that long with very little time in between! It’s about right too. The only time I had from breastfeeding was when I was pregnant and then we began breastfeeding again. I also breastfeed for about 18 months. That may or may not seem that long to some people. For me, it was just right. I have never really needed a breast pump since I don’t work outside of the home. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t always had one. It’s just one of those necessities that you should have around.
I was introduced to Simplisse through an email. I was a skeptic at first. I am hard to sell on breast pumps because my first pump experience was horrid. I attempted one that nearly tore my nipples off. That is a huge problem when you are nursing and have sore nipples. Besides don’t ya need those to breastfeed? I thought so! With Isabelle, I attempted a manual pump. I loved it. It was uncomfortable at times but it wasn’t painful. Of course I didn’t get the amount of milk that I thought I could get. I tried another pump with my last baby. I did love it. It was an electric and made it easy to get the milk. It also came with batteries for traveling. I just hated having all these tubes going everywhere.
Simplisse is a manual breast companion that is unlike traditional breast pumps. When I first attempted the Simplisse, I was surprised. I could barely tell that it was doing anything. I thought to myself, “Oh what did I get myself into, didn’t these people even try their own product?” Then the milk started flowing within seconds! I couldn’t even feel it! I had to actually watch the milk flowing to believe it.
Simplisse also offers other breastfeeding products to help promote an exceptional breastfeeding experience. The lanolin-free nipple cream is like a light cream texture that feels soothing for sore nipples. Perfect to heal those cracks and chapped nipples. It is also safe for mom and baby. The breast pump cleaning wipes make cleaning your Simplisse a lot easier! I have read a lot of negative comments on how many pieces are in the pump. I did find it was a pain to clean if I didn’t clean it right away. So after every pumping I would take a wipe out and clean everything the milk touched. No need to take the whole thing apart. Once I figured out this little tip, it didn’t matter how many parts were involved.
As with any pump, don’t expect too much at the beginning from your Simplisse. It is best used when your milk has come in. It may take a little time to start getting more milk out during these pumping sessions. The manual pumps are very handy when traveling. No tubes going everywhere, simply slip under your shirt and pump. Of course, practice safe pumping by letting someone else drive while you pump!
Since I don’t expect you to just take my word for the Simplisse, I am giving you a chance to win one! Simplisse will be shipping not only a manual breast pump but other products as well! In your box you will receive:

Here are some pretty good ones that I found!!! Thanks for this giveaway!
Utilize supplements as one way to improve nutrient intake, along with an increase in fruits and vegetables.
Drink plenty of water when taking nutritional supplements – between eight to 10 eight-ounce glasses of water each day.
Take high-quality mineral supplements such as those containing calcium citrate and magnesium aspartate.

I loved this tip on nutrition… “Educate yourself about nutrition. The more knowledgeable you are, the better able you are to model healthy food patterns for your children.”
Definitely has been important for me… if I don’t get enough protein and focus on eating nutrient dense foods I do NOT feel well!

Dads can help with breastfeeding too, by helping mom burp the baby!
a tip I learned was that The best way to keep your milk supply at peak levels is to breastfeed your baby as often as he or she demands it – and that’s as often as possible. Allowing your baby unlimited access to your breast when you are together during non-work hours helps to maintain your milk supply because your baby provides better breast stimulation than breast pumps can

TIP: Unlike cow milk, breast milk features special enzymes that helps baby in the digestion process. One of these enzymes breaks down the fat component of breast milk so that baby efficiently absorbs the milk.
