33 weeks praying for one day at a time
Ok my poor blog will now be quiet for awhile. Tuesday I turned 33 weeks. Are you wondering where my belly pic is? Well it won’t be up for awhile. I began having contractions that day. Of course Stoney left to the academy for training that morning. He was not to return intil Thursday night. Myles had other plans. My friend drove me to hospital. I was in denial. She was being real. She knew I wouldn’t be going home that night. Well she was right. I was closed and thick one week before. Tuesday I was 1 and 50% effaced. The contractions I thought were 15 minutes apart were actually 2. I just didn’t feel them. By the end of the night I was a 2. Wednesday I was a 2 and 60% effaced.
When I’m full term this meant having a baby in a few hours. So they are trying to avoid cervical checks to not stir stuff up. When I got here they did the fFn test. It came back positive. If it would have been negative it meant that I’m good for 2 weeks. I got steroids for his lungs. Morphine for pain and brethine for contractions.
I’m currently getting procardia every 4 hours to stop contractions. I’m also on bathroom privileges only. I will be checked soon to see what the plan is. If I have any change I’m being transported to a different town. Right now I’m 50 miles from home and this will put us at 100 miles. If no change I can leave but I had to agree to terms. Strict bedrest, no caring for my girls, and stay in town. Luckily my brother in law said we can stay with him. So we don’t have to pay for a hotel. Basically we are looking at a few week stay whether he is born or not.
What this means for my blog? I will update when I can. All reviews and commitments are on hold. I am writing from my blackberry so I can’t give them my everything like they deserve. If you would like to be in touch you can comment here. You can also send me an email to hisminenours6@gmail.com I don’t have access to my blog email but working on that. You can also friend me on facebook. Facebook.com/gena.morris or twitter @themorrisbunch. I try to update them when I can. Thank you everyone. Your prayers are needed now!

(((HUGS))) Still thinking of y’all. Knowing that you’re probably going to have a preemie is scary. I remember all the feelings associated with my 2nd son’s birth. My water spontaneously broke at 35 weeks. There was no stopping that one. Hopefully Myles will take the hint and stay put just a little bit longer for you.

Hang in there Mommy…I’m thinking of you and baby boy – it stinks that you have to be in the hospital, but it’s great that you are able to take advantage of all the medical precautions to hold on a little longer – you can do it

You most certainly have my prayers. If I see you on twitter I’ll try to be “acting” less concerned than I am and just working on keeping you in a good mood. This is the baby and you, in all the equations of the world the both of you are the priority for all of us right now. Hopefully no one will give you grief over updating a blog. You and that little boy need to work as a team to keep him growing a few more weeks before he makes his debut. Make sure you keep on him about that. xoxo

Praying for you! Your story sounds just like mine. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks after this because I bled and passed a huge clot which then kept me in there in case of hemorraghing.
Hope things go well foryoU!

I’ve been thinking about you! Praying very hard that the little boy stays put for a few more weeks!
Hey there friend – thinking of you and sending you and that beautiful baby great big hugs….keep updating! xoxo
hang in there, when I had my first baby at 34 weeks I had been in the hospital for 2.5 weeks before that just ‘holding he in’ LOL It gets boring, but it is worth it to get the steriods and extra ‘cooking’ time.
I will be thinking and praying for you, let us know if there is anything you need! Books-magazines-food-etc – we will find a way to get it to you!

Thinking of you! Although it is not ideal for him to be born right now, I had my first at 32 weeks 6 days. I’ll be honest, leaving her in NICU for 3 weeks sucked, but she is now a perfectly healthy normal almost 12 year old! If you can wait and leave with strict bedrest, do all you can to obey. I didn’t listen the best and wish I would’ve. Maybe I could’ve gone another week or so with her if I would have. Praying for you!
Remember to follow those orders…I know you will. Just a positive spin here..my oldest…now 15 was born at 32 weeks…was only 3 pounds. He is now 15, taller than me…I am 5’6″…weighs about 120 pounds and has no health problems. 15 years later I know medicine has advanced that much more. He had steroids for his lungs as well and never had to be on a ventilator.
Prayers indeed you can count on!
I look forward to hearing updates when you can…meanwhile I will chat with you via twitter!
xoxo
Trish that helps a lot! I know deep down he will do great! Thank you
Thnking about you. Hang in there. {{Hugs}}}

Just found your blog and I wanted to add my two cents…I know exactly what you’re going through! After a little over a month in the hospital I had my daughter at 34 weeks. She weighed just over three pounds but now she’s thriving! She’s almost one now, and she’s still super tiny but very healthy. The steroid shots worked wonders for her lungs, the strict bed rest (first at home, then in the hospital) kept her in as long as she could stay there and the excellent care once she was born kept her healthy. I guess what I’m saying is babies born at 33+ weeks have excellent odds for being just fine. Hang in there!
Thanks so much! It helps hearing these stories!
I just lifted you up in prayer. Please know that I will continue to pray for you.

I am so praying for you right now! I am a mom of a former preemie, born at 29w 6 days and I so know the fear and uncertainty you must be feeling. But I also knew that God had His hand on the situation and our baby was fine, after an extended NICU stay here in Canada! I pray that baby will stay put for a few more weeks and that you will stay healthy and strong for this precious gift! God bless!
