Coffee Break with Mom. Introducing my new love Keurig
There is one thing I look forward to every morning. It doesn’t include the kids. It doesn’t include my husband. It doesn’t include anyone but ME! Generally the girls get up and get ready by themselves while I stay in bed and take some time waking up. When they are out the door, I am starting to rise and heading straight to my morning boyfriend. I want to introduce you to this new found love. I will admit that it was love at first sight. For those who don’t believe in that then you need to come to my house! Let me introduce you to Keurig! He is the reason I can get up in the morning and get through the day! Now let’s get down to Coffee Talk!

I am a huge coffee drinker. I was also a naive coffee drinker. I thought that coffee tasted the same whether it came out of a glass pot or an expensive maker like the Keurig. I have always been a huge Folgers fan. I preferred it. The store brand stuff just wasn’t working. I didn’t care for the top brand stuff. Hey what can I say! I’m an easy girl to please. Truth be told, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you what Keurig was until I started blogging. Either bloggers are coffee addicts or just know a good thing! I personally think they are a little bit of both. But I knew when I saw the first review of Keurig that I wanted one!

So who is Keurig? Keurig is a single cup coffee maker that can brew gourmet flavored coffee in one cup and a hot steamy decaffeinated in the next. There is no guesswork on making an excellent cup of coffee anymore! Keurig uses K-cups that slip nicely in the holder. K-cups are perfectly proportioned. They hold in the fresh taste because of their airtight seal that does not require early morning thinking to open. That is a huge bonus for me because I am frequently spilling the coffee when I first open it. I just can’t function without my coffee! Did I mention that the old K-cups are not messy at all! No more pulling the nasty grounds out of your coffee pot and trying to carefully maneuver them into the garbage. Just toss the K-cup! No leaking, no messy grounds.
I used to think that the Keurig was just too expensive. A $10 coffee pot can do the job right? WRONG! I figure the glass pot that I had cost right around $50. It had the programmable timer. That was the fanciest feature. The Keurig that I received has so much more! I got the Keurig Special Edition B60 Brewer. My favorite things about the coffee maker aside from the no mess is that I can completely customize it to my needs. I can program it to turn on at 6 am so that when I wake up, the water is hot and ready to brew! So I don’t have coffee just sitting in the pot that is losing it’s fresh taste while I decide to get an extra hour to sleep in. It also has an automatic turn off feature. So it shuts off on it’s own when I decide to let it shut off! I can customize it for 1 hour or 6 hours. My old coffee maker automatically shut off after 2 hours. Let’s think about that for a minute. I schedule it to start at 6 am. Then magically I get to sleep in til 8:30 or 9. I have coffee that has been sitting there for 2 1/2 hours and it’s getting cold! Not cool when I just want a hot cup of coffee!

When I first got the Keurig, I was disappointed. How would I use it to fill up my good coffee cup? Well I should have read the directions! The 3 different cup size settings allow me to fill my mug up just right! Of course, it takes a little longer than filling up a small cup. I can fill up my cup in about 2 minutes. I brew the first cup on the largest cup size. Then I have to open the holder and close it again to brew a small cup. I am not sure if that’s how your supposed to brew different cups or what. But I’m too lazy to look it up early in the morning! I love that I can make a small cup or a large cup. The only coffee I will be wasting is the small amount in my cup! So no more grumpy husband telling me to stop wasting coffee!

Now Stoney loves a hot cup of coffee. I’m talking burning hot. I prefer to keep my taste buds while enjoying my coffee. One of his biggest complaints about our old maker (aside from my waste) was that it was never hot enough or stayed hot for long. You can change the brewing temperature to satisfy your own needs. Awesome right? Hey anything to make my wonderful husband happy!
I love to order everything online including my K-Cups. I shop at ACS Java because I can get Free Shipping after $50 and there is no minimum order like other stores. I do wish it had a delivery system! Shouldn’t a gourmet coffee maker come with it’s own personal butler service?
So now that I’ve introduced you to my new boyfriend, I will be honest! I am willing to share!

Looks classy but hmmmm makes me wanna have Keurig too. LOL. We also have the same issues with coffee makers, I always (always means everytime I make one) spill out coffee and it’s really that messy.
You’re sharing? So when are you bringing “your boyfriend” over??? I’ll be waiting! ; )
