For those who don’t know, my sister is getting married the end of February. So with the upcoming nuptials, I’ve been busy planning the bachelorette party and the bridal shower. With all of this going on, this pregnancy is zooming on by! It is actually very bittersweet for me. There is really no doubt in my mind that I do NOT want another baby. I am very excited about having Myles in our family and now can’t imagine NOT having him. But I feel so complete and want to focus on other things. I feel that I was blessed with a wonderful pregnancy so I could enjoy my last one. I just wish it would slow down!
With my first two babies, I wore the regular maternity clothes that were unflattering and drapish looking. When my third came along, I was not looking forward to growing. I loved dressing nice and I loved being comfortable. I hated the maternity pants cause they all had a HUGE ass. Let’s face it, I barely have a butt when I’m not pregnant and it doesn’t get much bigger when I am pregnant. No way can I feel those britches! I was on a mission to find cute maternity clothes. I accomplished it. I embraced the belly and all my changes. I loved it! It was the first time I truly loved my expanding waistline.
When I realized that you can be totally chic and pregnant, I really wondered why others hated maternity clothes. I also wondered why they settled for oversized tshirts and sweats. I know that women carry their babies differently and may not have the perfect pregnancy figure. But your still creating a miracle! Your growing a baby and should feel great about it! Just finding an outfit that is stylish and comfortable can boost your spirits remarkably! I suffer from prenatal depression and it leads into Postpartum Depression (PPD). I have found that forcing myself to get up and shower then putting something cute on can make the depression seem silly. Obviously it’s not the cure for depression but it’s amazing how much better you will feel!
Now I’ll close with a little about Myles! He is finally kicking higher than my belly button but I still feel him on top of my cervix. He likes to lay in my back a lot too. This week, Sydnee got to feel him kick and was so overjoyed. She was hesitant and as soon as she laid her hand on my belly, he kicked THREE times! She tells everyone how silly her brother is and how many times he kicked her. Surprisingly all the girls are excited about having a brother. He’s going to be mothered like crazy! Jayden (my stepson) is probably the most excited. We hope he can be here when Myles first comes. I know he would love it. The other day when we brought the kids home, he brought me some donuts and said, “Here Gena these are for my baby brother.” I nearly started crying right then!
What are your thoughts on embracing the belly? How do you make yourself feel more “posh” when pregnant?

My new year’s resolution is to embrace my body in all of its changes this year with my pregnancy. I don’t know about dressing “posh” but I am having fun with the style with this pregnancy… now to just get a CUTE belly like you. It will be fashionably draped. Thank you for sharing how you are embracing your body, you are inspiring.
