Life in a Fairytale

24 weeks and we hit viabilityI

2 Comments 29 December 2009

Yes you read that right! We are at 24 weeks and he is officially able to live outside the womb! Of course his odds are still stacked against him so we want him cooking for at least another 12 weeks. But now his survival rate is 39% according to March of Dimes, Quint Boenker Preemie Survival Foundation. His survival rate only gets higher each week. Of course this pregnancy is totally unlike my previous two. I have ZERO doubt that he will make it full term and be a healthy bouncing boy!

My last two pregnancies were emotional roller coasters because unlike some other high risk expectant moms, I had THREE previously normal pregnancies. They were all great with little to no problems. So I knew what I was missing out on. It made me a bit depressed during my pregnancies. This time I went in prepared for the worst and have only had the best! Aside from some small things, I continue to feel great! These ligaments are getting worse but I can totally handle them for now. I have been using Menstrual Comfort Cream with Cramp Bark. A little where the ligaments are and I am good to go.

I do have one issue that this little boy’s going to have a lecture on. He has decided that nighttime is the perfect time to get to moving. Seriously what is up with that! Doesn’t he know that I love to feel him kick but I want to feel it during the day! I just hope that we can get him to learn quickly that night time is sleeping.

This week I have been feeling exhausted between a cold, six kids and the holidays. I can’t believe they are almost gone. The stepkids will be leaving Saturday. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. In about 3 months I will be holding a little boy and wondering where the time went.

You look GREAT!!! :) And yeah, my little ones always kicked at night too but I think it was because they fell asleep to me walking around (aka rocking them). Night time is party time in your belly! lol Can’t wait to see him! :)
