Applesauce Homemade and Canned
APPLESAUCE
Apples
64 oz apple juice concentrate
12 oz apple juice frozen
cinnamon to taste

RECOMMENDED TOOLS
Apple corer
Sauce Master
When my neighbor brought over a big rubbermaid tote full of apples, I had one thing on my mind. APPLESAUCE! I love homemade applesauce and my girls just love applesauce. So the dreadful task began. Over 3 days we cored, diced and cranked. It was a lot of fun to get the girls involved.
I started out with a big pot. I put the cored apple pieces into the pot filled with juice and water. The smell was amazing! Sugar is not needed since the juice helps with the flavor. Cook the apples until they are tender. Then I placed them in the Sauce Master. This handy contraption is a tool my neighbor loaned to me and I fell in love with! It takes the apple waste and separates from the good apple stuff. There were two different sizes on it so I used the bigger one for 3/4 of the applesauce. Then I changed to the finer one. After mixing them together, it was the perfect consistency! Add a little cinnamon to flavor and you are done!
You can freeze the applesauce in freezer containers. I chose to can them. Since I don’t have a canner, I did the Hot Water Bath Method. It was easy and will keep my applesauce even longer! Be sure to check out the video of my applesauce making ability. Patience with the videographer, she is learning!
