Eating Right With The Looney Tunes Program
As all mothers, I try to reinforce healthy eating with my girls. I want them to not only love eating the right foods but choose the healthy foods over unhealthy foods. It is not always easy when they are tempted by the delicious sugar. Another challenge that we face is the cost. Healthier foods cost more than the processed and sugary foods.
The Looney Tunes Eat Right Kids Program was created when Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Safeway, Inc. partnered up. Their goal was to create a better-for-you line of food products for children. They want products to have great flavor with the nutrition. As we all know, characters sell! That is where the Looney Tunes comes in, they are making the food fun for kids!
Over the next 5 weeks, I will be working with The Looney Tunes Program to help you and your family eat right. We will provide information that is not only valuable but priceless! I will share another blog with you from Haylie Pomroy.
Haylie provides nutritional counseling and wellness consulting for clients who wish to actively enhance their health. She is an accomplished practitioner, speaker, writer, consultant, product developer, and researcher who has been featured several times on national television. Haylie practices in CA and CO and resides in Los Angeles with her two beautiful children.
Statistics on Childhood Obesity:
Obesity is a growing problem among our children nationwide, which, if not addressed, can lead to severe health issues in adulthood. As parents, teaching healthy eating habits and educating our children on how to choose to eat healthy is one of the best habits you can instill in your kids.
- According to a 2009 study, almost 1 in 5 American 4-year-olds is obese – that’s more than half a million 4-year-olds.
- The number of overweight and obese children (10 to 17 years old) is at or above 30 percent in 30 states.
- Research has also shown that overweight and obese children generally go on to become obese adults, with all the chronic, weight-related health issues that involves, such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.
